Housing Our Relatives Summit: Collaborative Solutions for Native Communities 2026

The National American Indian Housing Council, in collaboration with NeighborWorks America and Oweesta, is thrilled to announce the “Housing Our Relatives Summit: Collaborative Solutions for Native Communities,” on May 7 -- 8, 2026 in Anchorage, Alaska. This summit will be held immediately following NAIHC’s Annual Conference on May 3 -- 6, 2026, at the Dena’ina Convention Center. Tribal housing is at a critical turning point where collaborative partnerships are key. Indian Country is diverse, and our needs are vast. This timely convening is an opportunity to bring together local practitioners, key issue experts, and stakeholders from across Indian Country to leverage resources, share solutions, and scale local and regional strategies. This Summit offers a space to explore actionable solutions to address the full continuum of economic mobility and housing, from supporting our unhoused relatives to expanding affordable housing and homeownership opportunities for Native communities, both on and off reservations. We will bring a powerful network of: Tribes and Tribal housing programs, Urban Indian housing programs, Lenders, including Native community development financial institutions (CDFIs), Statewide Native homeownership and housing coalitions, Federal and state government agencies, Shelters, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, health, and social service providers, National housing intermediaries and other nonprofits, Funders and philanthropic entities. Join us in Alaska to foster connections and co-create a national agenda with clear next steps and a path of action for housing all of our relatives, no matter where they live.
