- North Carolina's Task Force on Accountability reached consensus to broaden post-secondary readiness beyond ACT WorkKeys to a menu-based approach covering college, career, and military pathways. - The working group recommended including industry-recognized credentials, CTE pathways, work-based learning, and career readiness tests like ACT WorkKeys in the indicator. - NCDPI encouraged including military enlistment and ASVAB information to recognize military service as a post-secondary pathway. - Members suggested further consideration of apprenticeships, military enlistment, service learning, and timing of the on-track-to-graduate measure.
- The Louisiana Board of Regents' Task Force on Career Alignment convened to define success in the education-to-employment pipeline and explore how to measure postgraduation outcomes. - Handshake presented its platform, detailing career center management features and first-destination survey tools, and reported identifying nearly 3,000 student outcomes in Louisiana over two school years. - An employer survey shared with the task force found that 74% of Louisiana employers do not use or have never heard of Handshake, and cited budget, capacity, and knowledge gaps as barriers to work-based learning.
