Moberly School District Comprehensive Literacy Plan
The Moberly School District Comprehensive Literacy Plan is aligned with the Missouri Department of Education's framework, focusing on fostering literacy development through the five pillars of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Key strategies include implementing a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS), promoting professional learning communities (PLCs), engaging families and communities in the literacy process, and utilizing state-endorsed literacy screening tools for continuous progress monitoring and timely interventions. The plan's vision is to ensure every student achieves reading proficiency by the end of third grade, supported by high-quality, evidence-based instruction within an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
